Basketball Game Preview: Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs vs. Fort Bend Bush Broncos

Fort Bend Austin hasn't had much luck against Fort Bend Bush recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Fort Bend Bush Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Fort Bend Austin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Saturday, Fort Bend Austin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 73-69 to Fort Bend Hightower. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (64), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Fort Bend Bush has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 64-56 loss to Fort Bend Travis. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Tigers are ranked 23rd).

Fort Bend Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Fort Bend Bush, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Fort Bend Austin skirted past Fort Bend Bush 45-42 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Fort Bend Bush's Legborsi Mato, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 21 points.
