Borden is 8-2 against Lanesville since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Braves will face off against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Borden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Henryville get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lanesville made easy work of Rock Creek Academy on Thursday and carried off an 18-1 win.

Jaxson Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. He has become a key player for Lanesville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolyn Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Lanesville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was CJ Wiseman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Lanesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Borden's record is now 16-7. As for Lanesville, their record now sits at 9-11.

Borden skirted past Lanesville 3-2 when the teams last played last Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
