Baseball Recap: Walhalla Gets the Win

Walhalla won the last time they faced West-Oak and things went their way on Monday too. The Razorbacks had just enough and edged out the Warriors 2-1.

DALTON DIAL spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Walhalla is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, COLLIN PHILLIPS was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was LUKE KANAGY, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Walhalla has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for West-Oak, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Walhalla will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
