Baseball Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. Midway Raiders

For the second straight game, Red Springs will face off against Midway. The Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Springs is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Monday just wasn't the day for Red Springs' offense. They lost 14-0 to Midway on Monday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

For Midway's part, Cameron Register looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Scott, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Herring was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Midway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Midway has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Red Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
