Basketball Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 88-22 loss at the hands of the Jones County Greyhounds. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-15.

Aubrey Norris went supernova for Jones County, going 7 for 13 en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Norris a new career-high in points. Liberty Pennamon was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points along with six assists and three steals.

Hampton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11. As for Jones County, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.

Hampton has already played their next game, a 53-28 win against Locust Grove on the 29th. As for Jones County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-40 victory against Ola on the 29th.
