Game recap: Williston Northampton High School Football Team wins against Wilbraham & Monson Academy

WILBRAHAM, Mass. - Williston Northampton (Easthampton, Mass.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 41-26 win over Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Wilbraham, Mass.).

The Wildcats put up seven points in the opening frame. Williston Northampton scored on a Jordan Keliinui touchdown run.

WN was up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Keliinui touchdown run in the first quarter.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 14 entering the fourth.

Keliinui played well for the Easthampton school in the victory. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Wildcats came away with a 41-24 victory.

The loss comes after Wilbraham & Monson Academy defeated Westminster 41-20 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for Williston Northampton, which was coming off a 35-21 defeat at the hands of Cheshire Academy in its previous game.

Wilbraham & Monson Academy (1-4) goes up against Tabor Academy in a Colonial game matchup next week, while Williston Northampton (3-2) locks horns with Suffield Academy also in a Colonial game.
