Baseball Game Preview: Permian Panthers vs. Keller Indians

The Permian Panthers will square off against the Keller Indians on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Permian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Socorro 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Bulldogs since May 5, 2018.

Meanwhile, Keller had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout.

Keller's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Permian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14-1.

Permian might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Keller in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
