Basketball Game Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Winslow Bulldogs

The Alchesay Falcons just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Winslow Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alchesay is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Alchesay is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Holbrook on Tuesday. Alchesay fell to Holbrook 42-36.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winslow, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They took down Blue Ridge 51-36 on Friday.

Alchesay better focus on containing Taylin Puhuhefvaya and Kaitlyn Belone as the pair were huge in Winslow's win. Puhuhefvaya went 8 for 20 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds, while Belone posted 11 points and seven assists. Those 22 points gave Puhuhefvaya a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Biinay Patterson, who had five points and ten boards.

Winslow's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Alchesay, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.

Alchesay came up short against Winslow when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 57-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Belone, who went 5 of 11 en route to 19 points along with five assists and four steals.
