Baseball Recap: Mohave Accelerated's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mohave Accelerated dropped their record down to 5-12 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 26-20 to the North Valley Christian Academy Lions. Even if the Patriots couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Cash Keller was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for North Valley Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

On North Valley Christian Academy's side, Brayden Collins was a standout: he got on base in six of his seven plate appearances with five stolen bases, seven RBI, and three runs. Collins has become a key player for the Lions: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-15-1 otherwise. Levi Corrigan also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Mohave Accelerated has already played their next match, a 9-7 defeat against Heritage Academy on the 26th. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will square off against St. John Paul II Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. St. John Paul II Catholic will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
