Soccer Game Preview: Skyridge vs. Westlake

The Skyridge Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Westlake Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westlake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyridge, who comes in off a win.

Skyridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked fourth at the time (Skyridge was ranked 20th). The Falcons walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Vikings on Wednesday. Skyridge's winning goal came courtesy of McKay Haskins.

Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lone Peak. That's two games in a row now that Westlake have lost by just one goal.

Skyridge pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five contests. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Skyridge skirted past Westlake 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
