Volleyball Recap: Escalon's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Escalon entered their tilt with Hilmar on Wednesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hilmar Yellowjackets 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Escalon never let Hilmar on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24, 25-15.

Escalon can attribute much of their success to Aydun Melo, who had 14 digs and four assists.

Escalon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive games.

Escalon pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Hilmar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Escalon will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Beyer at 6:30 p.m. As for Hilmar, they will take on Waterford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
