Landrum had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers 4-3 on Monday. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 4-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

They hit Blue Ridge with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tristan Barker (2), Joey Martinez, and Hector Gomez.

Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
