Meanwhile, Meadville hadn't done well against Atlanta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Meadville blew past Atlanta 16-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
McKinlee Fletcher was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Burnett, who scored three runs while going 3-for-6.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Meadville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .390. The last time their batting average was this high was back in September of 2023.
Linn County skirted past Meadville 11-10 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Linn County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
