Leesville Road waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Athens Drive Jaguars by a score of 51-38. The Pride have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Leesville Road's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mattie Matonic, who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Finley Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Leesville Road was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Athens Drive only racked up nine assists.

Despite the defeat, Athens Drive had strong showings from Kianna Gulley, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points along with six boards and three steals, and Quincie Toran, who posted 15 points. Gulley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Makenzie Kelly was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Leesville Road's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Athens Drive, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Leesville Road and Athens Drive should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Leesville Road will square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 206 places (97 vs. 303). Leesville Road is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Athens Drive (ranked 193rd) will meet Enloe (ranked 537th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
