Baseball Recap: Evansville Christian Comes Up Short

Evansville Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it four. They came up short against the Tecumseh Braves, falling 10-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 12-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Tecumseh, their record is now 6-15-1. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Tecumseh's part, Westen Curtis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Degan Ash and Channing Boger did most of the damage at the plate: Ash got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Boger went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Boger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Waylon Riddle, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Evansville Christian has already played their next game (against Wood Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tecumseh, they will take on Tell City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
