Basketball Game Preview: Tucker Tigers vs. Marist War Eagles

Tucker has won six straight games at home, while Marist has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Tucker Tigers will host the Marist War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Tucker earned a 62-52 win over North Springs. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Spartans are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marist was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Clarkston 83-31. The War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season.

Marist's win came from a few key players Tucker will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Owen Ritger, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was James Lasco, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Marist was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tucker is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Marist, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Tucker didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Marist in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with an 86-82 win. Does Tucker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marist turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
