Basketball Game Preview: La Salle Institute Cadets vs. Troy Flying Horses

The La Salle Institute Cadets will square off against the Troy Flying Horses at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

La Salle Institute is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Mohonasen, posting a 90-43 win. The Cadets have beaten the Warriors the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Troy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over the Spartans. Given the Flying Horses' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Spartans are ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Salle Institute's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

La Salle Institute didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Troy when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 75-71 victory. Will La Salle Institute repeat their success, or does Troy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
