Baseball Game Preview: River Valley Panthers vs. United Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as River Valley Panthers take on United Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. River Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

River Valley's last matchup with Cambria Heights could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. River Valley lost 11-1 to Cambria Heights.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, United was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Homer-Center, falling 8-2. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Tuesday.

United saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Darr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for United, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything went River Valley's way against United when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as River Valley made off with a 12-2 victory. Will River Valley repeat their success, or does United has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
