Baseball Recap: Dodge City Demons vs. Heights Falcons
Dodge City extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-8 in the process. They came up short against the Heights Falcons, falling 15-5. The Demons were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Dodge City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Bogner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Jayden Tinoco, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for Heights, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Dodge City since May 4, 2018.
On Heights' side, they got a massive performance out of Kasch Oakley, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Oakley is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-8-1 when he doesn't). Clayton Rittel was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Coincidentally, Dodge City and Heights will both be playing Blue Valley West the next time they take the field. The Demons will head out to face the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
