The Rocklin Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Franklin Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocklin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Rocklin's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ponderosa as Rocklin made off with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Payton Prior made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Rocklin let Katie Wetteland and Savannah Lorenzini run wild. Wetteland went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Lorenzini went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits Lorenzini has posted since back in March of 2024. Maddie Williams was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Rocklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponderosa only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin challenged Inderkum on Tuesday. Franklin had just enough and edged out Inderkum 9-7. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly two runs.
The team relied heavily on Micayla Arlotto, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those triples marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamea Torres, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
The win was the fourth in a row for Franklin, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. As for Rocklin, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Franklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Rocklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Franklin, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Rocklin keep running through batters, or will Franklin buck the trend?
Rocklin skirted past Franklin 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2017. Does Rocklin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
