1A Conference 10 recap October 1, 2013

Gates County was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 1A Conference 10. Earlier in the week, the Red Barons defeated Creswell 52-6.

Plymouth took down Columbia 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Demarkice Price ran for 174 yards in the win.

Manteo's dynamic duo of John Lilley and Rasheed Bryant proved to be unstoppable against Bertie, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lilley threw for 25 yards and Bryant had 25 yards receiving.

Price was a passing and rushing force as the Vikings beat the Wildcats. Price's key target this week was Raequan Purvis, who caught 2 passes for 13 yards.

Bryant made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Redskins defeated Bertie. The 5-foot-11 senior recorded 2 fumbles.

Camden County's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Noah Tuttle has thrown for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Christian Latham has 8 catches for 152 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Perquimans takes on Gates County. As it stands, the Pirates are in fourth, while Matthew Biggy's team is in third.
