Softball Game Preview: New Haven Rockets vs. L'Anse Creuse Lancers

The New Haven Rockets will head out to face off against the L'Anse Creuse Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Haven came up short against Marine City on Wednesday, falling 16-1. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Haven saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerikah Bowman Class 2026, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, L'Anse Creuse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of L'Anse Creuse North.

Tiara Hyles put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). Hyles was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Alyssa Strohl was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

New Haven's record now sits at 0-2. As for L'Anse Creuse, their record is now 0-3.
