Softball Recap: Rolesville Takes a Loss

Rolesville lost against East Wake back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rams lost 15-9 to the Warriors. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Marissa D'Antonio was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Abbie DeCiantis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Rolesville's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for East Wake, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolesville will take on Knightdale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.5 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Wake, they will square off against Wake Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Guardians have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
