Basketball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Comes Up Short

If Northeastern Clinton was feeling good fresh off their 65-26 takedown of Northern Adirondack last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars came up short against the Beekmantown Eagles on Saturday, falling 57-35. The matchup was a close 22-20 at the break, but unfortunately for the Cougars it sure didn't stay that way.

Payton Parliament continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Beekmantown, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. The game was Parliament's third in a row with at least ten points. Sophie Miller was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Northeastern Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Beekmantown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern Clinton will challenge Moriah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beekmantown, they will face off against Northeastern Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
