Football Recap: Concord Spiders vs. Crest Chargers
Concord and Crest squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Concord had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 69-6 loss at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Spiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Chargers are ranked 25th).
Ely Hamrick produced another solid effort throwing for 256 yards and six touchdowns on only 12 passes, while also punching in one TD on the ground for Crest. That's the most passing yards Hamrick has posted since back in August. Another passer making a difference was Brock Melton, who threw for 62 yards and a pair of TDs.

Concord moved to 7-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Crest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crest, they will square off against East Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 884 yards in their previous games.
