Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Central Takes a Loss

St. Joseph Central was the 11-1 winner over Clay when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Flyers came up short against the Panthers on Wednesday, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Flyers have suffered against the Panthers since April 28, 2021.

St. Joseph Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Neal, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Neal is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Evan Aldridge, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

St. Joseph Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

St. Joseph Central will face off against East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clay, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-10 win against South Gallia on the 17th.
