Baseball Recap: Cambria Heights Victorious

Cambria Heights won the last time they faced Conemaugh Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Highlanders walked away with a 6-1 win over the Blue Jays. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

Garrett Jasper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Bryce Lewis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Ethan Kline was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Cambria Heights' record now sits at 9-6. As for Conemaugh Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambria Heights will head out to challenge United at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Conemaugh Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Windber at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Jays are facing the Ramblers at the right time seeing as the Ramblers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
