Softball Recap: Live Oak Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

Live Oak waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Pioneer Mustangs with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Acorns, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Eden Svoboda, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Quinn Hulber-Dana was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Live Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only managed two hits.

Live Oak pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-15.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Live Oak will face off against rival Piedmont Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Acorns 1.6, the Pirates 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Pioneer is set to challenge their familiar foe Oak Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
