Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Avon

Avon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wellsville Lions. For the Braves, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Jessie Crye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Avery Boor was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Wellsville, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3.

As of now, neither Avon nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
