Basketball Recap: Northland Eagles vs. Cromwell Cardinals
Northland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 89-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cromwell Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 94-65 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.
Cromwell had a senior duo take command as Brady Dahl went 12 of 21 on his way to 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals and Dylan Nyberg went 8 for 13 en route to 18 points and six assists. Dahl's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lane Gervais, who posted 12 points.
Northland's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Cromwell, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Northland will square off against Deer River at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cromwell, they will venture away from home to take on East Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
