Softball Recap: Sparta Comes Up Short

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Clever Blue Jays, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Blue Jays this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-4 defeat back in March.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Clever, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Sparta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 defeat against Reeds Spring on the 12th. As for Clever, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Forsyth on the 12th.
