Recap: Wheatmore Warriors vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats
The Wheatmore Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 80-50 loss at the hands of Eastern Randolph. Wheatmore has not had much luck with Eastern Randolph recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Wheatmore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Kines, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Nyamongo, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Timothy Brower continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastern Randolph, scoring 29 points along with seven steals. The game was Brower's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nicah Taylor, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Wheatmore's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Eastern Randolph, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Wheatmore will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastern Randolph, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern Randolph has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
