The Bedford Bisons will face off against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bedford is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Bishop McCort with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Gabe Taylor spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Owen Taylor was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Owen Tedrow was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Bedford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.
Killian Worthing made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Bellwood-Antis got a massive performance out of Cam Swogger, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Swogger is becoming a predictor of the Blue Devils' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Zach Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Bedford's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Bellwood-Antis, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Bedford couldn't quite finish off Bellwood-Antis in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Will the Bisons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
