Softball Recap: St. Michael Has No Trouble Against Valley

The home team had won the previous four meetings between St. Michael and Valley, and St. Michael kept the tradition alive. St. Michael blew past Valley 19-10 on Wednesday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Denea Livingston made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Livingston was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Ashley Johnson was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Roan, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

St. Michael's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Michael beat Valley by a score of 19-1 later that day.
