Softball Recap: Circleville Tigers vs. Unioto Shermans
Circleville had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Unioto Shermans by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
Claire Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kayla Fleck was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
As for Unioto, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.
On Unioto's side, Peytan Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Robinson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
