Volleyball Recap: Maxwell Triumphs

Maxwell hadn't done well against South Loup recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 win over South Loup. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Maxwell not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept South Loup between 17 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17.

Emory Christensen paced Maxwell's offense, picking up seven kills. Christensen really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rylynn Quick, each putting up four.

Maxwell's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for South Loup, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Coming up, Maxwell will head out to square off against Paxton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each matchup than the last. As for South Loup, they will head out on the road to take on Cozad at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
