Baseball Game Preview: Calallen Wildcats vs. China Spring Cougars

For the second straight game, Calallen will face off against China Spring. The Wildcats will host the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calallen will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Calallen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over China Spring.

Cody Andrade looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calallen got a massive performance out of Reese Rusher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Rusher a new career-high. Dallin DeBellas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Calallen's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 33-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for China Spring, with the defeat, they broke their 25-game winning streak and moved their record to 35-5.
