Soccer Game Preview: Palmetto vs. Parrish Community

Palmetto hasn't had much luck against Parrish Community recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Palmetto Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. Palmetto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.

Parrish Community is hoping to do what Venice couldn't on Monday: put an end to Palmetto's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Palmetto won by a goal and slipped past Venice 3-2. The Tigers better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Ja'Lynn Sanders, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, Parrish Community fell victim to Mariner and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tritons. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Tritons are ranked 12th).

Palmetto pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matchups. As for Parrish Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1.

Palmetto might still be hurting after the 7-2 loss they got from Parrish Community when the teams last played back in December of 2022. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palmetto was down 3-0.
