Softball Game Preview: Ottawa Pirates vs. LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers

The Ottawa Pirates will face off against the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The last six games Ottawa has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Ottawa and Morris had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Redskins on Monday, sneaking past 2-1. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Redskins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru waltzed into their game on Monday with 18 straight wins... but they left with 19. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-1.

LaSalle-Peru pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ottawa, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
