Charleston managed to keep up with Mt. Zion until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Charleston Trojans were dealt a 42-10 loss at the hands of the Mt. Zion Braves. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Luke Bonnstetter punched in a rushing score, and also threw for 116 yards on eight of 13 attempts.
Donavon Clements was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground,
Ben Coffey rushed for 55 yards.
It was another big night for Keller Stocks, who threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 51 yards on only six carries for Mt. Zion. Another player making a difference was Kaden Becker, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
Charleston's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4. As for Mt. Zion, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
