Baseball Game Preview: Dunellen Destroyers vs. Rahway Indians

The Dunellen Destroyers are taking a road trip to take on the Rahway Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Dunellen is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering New Egypt just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 13-1.

Dunellen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mark Stein, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Rahway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 17-0 to Westfield.

Rahway's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Dunellen, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Rahway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dunellen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Rahway, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Dunellen's hitters?

Dunellen came out on top in a nail-biter against Rahway in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Destroyers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
