Baseball Recap: Rainier's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Napavine, Rainier was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Onalaska Loggers. The win was some much needed relief for the Mountaineers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Wyatt Cughan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Rainier: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Goodman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Rainier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Rainier's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Onalaska, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rainier beat the Loggers by a score of 11-7 later that day.
