Football Recap: Desert Oasis Starts Season with Win on the Road

Desert Oasis had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 48-13 victory over the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Diamondbacks just coasted through the last quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Sports Leadership & Management lost, don't look at Greg Cortez. Despite the final result, he picked up 75 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards and one score. Cortez's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis will head out to square off against Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Virgin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
