Volleyball Preview: Masconomet Regional Chieftains vs. Saugus Sachems
Masconomet Regional has been away from home for three games now, but on Thursday they'll finally make their return. They will host the Saugus Sachems at 6:00 p.m. Masconomet Regional will be strutting in after a win while Saugus will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Masconomet Regional made easy work of Salem and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-20.
It was another big night for Jordan Draper, who had three aces, two kills, and 34 assists. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lidia Benedetto, who had 15 digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Masconomet Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem only served three.
Meanwhile, Saugus lost 3-0 to Lynn Vo-Tech on Friday. The Sachems have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Masconomet Regional's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Saugus, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
