Softball Game Preview: Colony Titans vs. Corona Panthers

The Colony Titans will venture away from home to take on the Corona Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Colony comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Colony managed to slip by Jurupa Hills the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Colony lost 15-9 to Jurupa Hills on Monday. One positive for the Titans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Gisella De Los Santos(2025) was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Even though they lost, Colony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Corona took on Redlands East Valley last Tuesday. Corona sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Redlands East Valley. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The victory made it two in a row for Corona and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Colony took their win against Corona in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6. Will Colony repeat their success, or does Corona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
