Volleyball Recap: Lafayette County Huskers vs. Lexington Minutemen

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knob Noster, Lafayette County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Lexington Minutemen 3-0. The Huskers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.

Lafayette County's got stronger as the match went on, holding Lexington to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-9.

Lafayette County can attribute much of their success to Lydia Welborn, who had seven digs and five aces. That's the most aces Welborn has posted since back in October of 2023.

Lafayette County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive games.

Lafayette County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2. As for Lexington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lafayette County beat Lexington by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday.
