Recap: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Glades Central Raiders

The Seminole Ridge Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 52-39 to Glades Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Seminole Ridge in their matchups with Glades Central: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Seminole Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Calvin Warren. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Warren has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Elliot Petit-Frere was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.

Seminole Ridge bumped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Glades Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole Ridge on the road again on Tuesday and play against Boca Raton at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Boca Raton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Seminole Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Glades Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Clewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
