Soccer Game Preview: Cholla vs. Walden Grove

The Cholla Chargers will face off against the Walden Grove Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cholla is coming into the contest fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Rincon/University that saw the pair combine for ten shots on goal. Cholla fell just short of Rincon/University by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Chargers have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Juan Rodriguez wasn't going to let Rincon/University walk away unscathed as he scored both of Cholla's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Meanwhile, Walden Grove waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Dorados onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory. That seven goal margin sets a new team best for the Red Wolves this season.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Walden Grove, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Cholla came up short against Walden Grove in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 4-2. Can Cholla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
