Basketball Recap: Legacy Comes Up Short

Legacy's tournament run continued when they took on Bridgeport on Friday. The Legacy Leopards were outmatched by the Bridgeport Bulls and fell 75-28. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 738th, while the Bulls are ranked 78th).

Bridgeport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anna Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most points Green has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Murphy, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 11 points and five steals.

Legacy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Bridgeport, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mabank the next time they take the court. Bridgeport will head out to face Mabank at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Legacy will head out to face them at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
