Soccer Game Preview: Rio Americano vs. Inderkum

The Rio Americano Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Inderkum Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Americano's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Rio Americano will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Monday, then bounced right back against Ponderosa on Thursday. Rio Americano narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Ponderosa 4-3. The win was all the more spectacular given the Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 675th, while the Bruins are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, Inderkum entered their game against Woodcreek on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Inderkum fell 2-0 to Woodcreek. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Rio Americano's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 2-4-2. As for Inderkum, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2-2.
